by Laura Marling
Laura Marling

Biography:

Laura Marling (born 1st February 1990) is a folk singer/songwriter/guitarist from Eversley, United Kingdom.

She began playing the guitar at the age of five, first being taught the blues by her father in front of the family fire, and has been enthralled by the songs and lyrics of the likes of Neil Young, Bob Dylan, James Taylor and John Mayall ever since. Is A Hope/Drinking Alone by Laura Marling
Standard Tuning- Capo 3
Part of the song is fingerpicking, if you listen to the song it's pretty easy to
hear the pattern.

Intro: Am Em

Am Em
I've been thinking
Am Em
in my wandering
Am Em
On the way home
Am Em
from your house
Am Em
That I love you
Am Em
and why I do,
Am Em
And if there'll ever
Am Em
be someone else

F
You're young and you're stable

Stand up to your label
F G C
You're young and you're able
G Am
But you need you a saviour
G Am
Oh you need you a saviour

Am Em
Young believers
Am Em
Come and see her
Am Em
She has pushed him
Am Em
to the ground
Am Em
Though with one hand
Am Em
he could break her
Am Em
With one hand
Am Em
split her in two

F F G C
But the reason that we love him
G Am
Is a hope he don't want to
G Am
Is a hope he don't want to

Am Em
And can you find for me
Am Em
a higher thing?
Am Em
So I can love he
Am Em
who will not fight for me
Am Em
Cause I do not believe
Am Em
Believe that I love thee
Am Em
So fight for me
Am Em
think and feel for me

F F G C
No I do not believe
G Am
but believe that I love you
G Am
But believe that I love you

G Am
And when you're drinking alone
G Am
No it's bad for my soul
G Am
Take him back to a year ago
G Am
Throwing stones at my window

Am Em
Ask me demons
Am Em
To hear you moaning on
Am Em
Yes I heard the songs
Am Em
Like bullets to me
Am Em
Put a calm in me
Am Em
Knowing it was he
Am Em
Who was fucking crazy

F
You're young and you're stable
Am
Stand up to your label
