by Laura Marling
Laura Marling

Biography:

Laura Marling (born 1st February 1990) is a folk singer/songwriter/guitarist from Eversley, United Kingdom.

She began playing the guitar at the age of five, first being taught the blues by her father in front of the family fire, and has been enthralled by the songs and lyrics of the likes of Neil Young, Bob Dylan, James Taylor and John Mayall ever since. D
my husband left me last night
D
left me a poor and lonely wife
D
and I cooked the meals and he lived the life
D
and now I'm just down for the rest of my time
D
Oh he Oh me Oh My

A
I speak because I can
G D
To anyone I trust enough to listen
A
You speak because you can
G D
To anyone Who'll hear what you say

F#
hmmm-mm
G D
I swear it was not my choice
F#
hmmm-mm
G D
I Used to be so kind

Never rode my bike down to the sea
never finished that letter I was writing
never got up and said anything
worthy for he oh my

G
Graceful sleeper
D
Midnight dreamer
G D
I'm Floored by your sound
G D
I'm Floored by your sound

F#
hmmm-m
G D
I swear it was not my choice
F# G D
to reach out to someone wise
F# G D
I used to be so kind
F# G D
I used to be so kind

A G D
At the breaking of the morning you'll be dancing on my soft lawn
A G D
when you're shaking out the anger that stops you from taking my calls
A G
D
when you're running up the highway singing I'm the king the king of you all
A G D
and you look back to where you started I'll be there waving you on

never rode my bike down to the sea
never quite figured out what I believe
never got up and said anything
worthy for he oh my
