Whiskeytown

Biography:

Whiskeytown was an alt-country band from Raleigh, North Carolina founded in 1994 and fronted by Ryan Adams along with violinist Caitlin Cary. The band produced a number of albums before ultimately parting ways in 2000.

Other members of the group included guitarists Mike Daly and Phil Wandscher, bassist Steve Grothmann and drummer Skillet Gilmore.

G C
Can you hear that lonesome moanin
G C
Is that you or is that me
Am C
My broken heart aint aching for nothing
Am C
That I cant touch or I cant see
G C
And do you hear that lonesome cryin
G C
Thought I made it stop its singin
Am C
But my hands lay there on the bottle
Am C
And I just drank till my heart would be
G
Too drunk to dream.

Chorus

C G
So baby you can leave if you wanna
Bb F
There aint no drinkin when the bottle is dry
C G
Sugar, you can leave if you want to
Bb F
I got no more tears to cry

Do you hear that lonesome shuffle
Of my feet walking out of the bar
And I stumble down the same damn streets
My daddy done stumbled before

Chorus x2:

So baby you can leave if you wanna
All the flowers in your garden have died
Baby, Im gonna have to warn you
I aint got no more tears to cry

Well sugar, you can leave if you want to
There aint no drinkin when the bottle is dry
Baby, Im gonna have to warn you
I aint got no more tears to cry
