by Whiskeytown
Whiskeytown

Biography:

Whiskeytown was an alt-country band from Raleigh, North Carolina founded in 1994 and fronted by Ryan Adams along with violinist Caitlin Cary. The band produced a number of albums before ultimately parting ways in 2000.

Other members of the group included guitarists Mike Daly and Phil Wandscher, bassist Steve Grothmann and drummer Skillet Gilmore.

Adams and Cary have publicly talked of reuniting Whiskeytown on multiple occasions, as recently as 2005, but as of yet, nothing new has materialized.

[Intro]

D G C D
A C G D X2

[Verse 1]

D G C D
Well I can't sleep for dreaming of my baby at night
A C G D
I've been trying to forget her, but I can't help but remember her
D G C D
I got the skies and the sweet southern pines to confide in
A C G D
I've been running for so long, as I might as well have just been hiding

[Chorus]

C G D C
Well, I just can't see love as something to be afraid of
G C G D
But then again, it's merely your kiss and make-up

[Verse 2]

D G C D
I was living in the city with a girl that was pretty and was fine
A C G D
I had a rock and roll band and guitar stand in mind
D G C D
Sometimes the lines ran into the dozens at night
A C G D
Until I ended up arrested for the liquor I invested in

[Chorus]

C G D C
Well, I just can't see love as something to be afraid of
G C G D
But then again, it's merely your kiss and make-up

[Verse 3]

D G C D
Well I can't sleep for dreaming of my baby at night
A C G D
I've been trying to forget her, but I can't help but remember her
D G C D
I got the skies and the sweet southern pines to confide in
A C G D
I've been running for so long, I might as well just been hiding

[Chorus]

C G D C
Well, I just can't see love as something to be afraid of
G C G D
But then again, it's merely your kiss and make-up
C G D C
Well, I just can't see love as something to be afraid of
G C G D
But that ain't what the rest of the world got made of
