Jason Eady

Lonesome Down And Out

by Jason Eady
Jason Eady

Biography:

Jason Eady (born 23 January 1975 in Jackson, Mississippi) is an American country music singer and guitarist. He is regarded as an important figure in the subgenre of Texas country music, a form of "classic country" bent upon returning the music to its historic singer-songwriter roots.

On his third and latest album, When the Money’s All Gone, Eady delivers southern gospel stomps, New Orleans soul, and the heartbreaking tide of sin and redemption through his rich baritone voice and a raucous band.

Jason Eady——Lonesome Down and Out

C C
Well I started runnin’ after the stayin’ failed to work
Am G C
Got used to livin’ a little heart broke and hurt
C C
Might seem reckless ‘cause I’m livin’ a lil’ out
Am G C
When the truth is I’m just lonesome down and out
C C
When I wake up with an achin’ a feelin’ I cannot hide
Am G C
I start to shakin’ I’m just breakin’ down inside
C C
Just don’t ask me ‘cause I won’t tell you I’m much too proud
Am G C
When the truth is I’m just lonesome down and out

Chorus:
F C
Well I try to convince myself that I can’t feel the pain
F C
Soak it up with whiskey and I walk out in the rain
F C Am
Stumble down the street while I scream and shout
C G C
When the truth is I’m just lonesome down and out

Verse 2:
C C
Well I’m standin’ on a mountain the one I built with guilt and shame
Am G C
Lookin’ out on the messes I've made
C C
I wish that I could go back down and say I’m sorry without a doubt
