Jason Eady

Drive

by Jason Eady
Jason Eady

Biography:

Jason Eady (born 23 January 1975 in Jackson, Mississippi) is an American country music singer and guitarist. He is regarded as an important figure in the subgenre of Texas country music, a form of "classic country" bent upon returning the music to its historic singer-songwriter roots.

On his third and latest album, When the Money’s All Gone, Eady delivers southern gospel stomps, New Orleans soul, and the heartbreaking tide of sin and redemption through his rich baritone voice and a raucous band.

[Verse 1]
D G D
Well, somewhere between Jackson and Memphis
D A D
I knew I would let go of you
D G D
Well, it took some time but I've come to my senses
D A D
And I'm looking for a lighter shade of blue

[Chorus]
D G D
So I'll drive where you can't find me
D A D
Where those ol' winds don't call out your name
D G D
Where I don't see your face in the cold light of dawn
D A D
I roll steady down this road I'm on

[Verse 2]
D G D
Well, somewhere between Hope and Amarillo
D A D
I found myself thinkin' of you
D G D
Well, I'm comin' down like the rain on my window
D A D
And that's just one more storm I'll get through

[Chorus]
D G D
So I'll drive where you can't find me
D A D
Where those ol' winds don't call out your name
D G D
Where I don't see your face in the cold light of dawn
D A D
I roll steady down this road I'm on

[Verse 3]
D G D
Well, somewhere between the desert and the ocean
D A D
I finally forgot about you
D G D
Well, I ran out of road and love and devotion
D A D
And I'm looking at a lighter shade of blue

[Chorus]
D G D
So I'll drive where you can't find me
D A D
Where those ol' winds don't call out your name
D G D
Where I don't see your face in the cold light of dawn
D A D
I roll steady down this road I'm on
D G D
Where I don't see your face in the cold light of dawn
D A D
I roll steady down this road I'm on
