Greg Graffin - Watchmaker's Dial
Album: Cold as the Clay (2006)

Tuning: Standard

G D C G
Oh, yonder stands the prophet, words are music to our ears

G D C D
But down among the sinners, only pain and sweat and tears

Em C G D
Oh, the sermon soothes the simple but the rest are rapt with fear

Em C G D Em C G D G
Ohhhh no, too late to hold a trial, time doesn't wait for the watchmaker's dial

G D C G
In the best laid plans of history lie the ruins of the past

G D C D
And a chronicle of suffering shows the mythic pall they cast

Em C G D
To believe is true religion but to see is truth at last

Em C G D Em G C G D G
Ohhhh no, too late to hold a trial, time doesn't wait for the watchmaker's dial
