by Five Iron Frenzy
Five Iron Frenzy

Biography:

Five Iron Frenzy (also known as Five Iron or FIF) is a Christian ska band formed in Denver, Colorado in 1995 and disbanded in 2003. In 2011, the band reunited and in 2013, they released the album Engine of a Million Plots. Their signature sound is a mix of rock and ska while their lyrics mix socially-conscious satire and their Christian faith.

Five Iron Frenzy started as a local side-project of Reese, Keith, Micah, and Scott's band Exhumator. Although the original intent was for the band to stay local and help support the local music scene

Well, this is one interesting (and misheard) song with an even better music video. Enjoy!

Verse 1:
Em C
Cling to your God and guns,
G D
The banjo’s playing Hot Cross Buns,
Em C
Bucket seats set to recline,
G D
No need to cross the county line.
Em C
Are the Arabs closing ranks,
G D
About to roll some Russian tanks?
Em C
Shut the doors and save the kids,
G D
Lock and load - just like Jesus did.

Chorus:
G D
The United States of Amnesia
Em C
Make us numb, make it dumb, anesthesia.
G D
Cut the cord, close the door, we don’t know ya,
Em C G D Em C
It’s the zen and the art of xenophobia.

G D Em C

Verse 2:
Em C
Let’s keep them separate,
G D
Melanin just can’t succeed.
Em C
“Give me liberty… or something.”
G D
It’s better if you just don’t read.
Em C
Crank your phasers up to “slaughter”
G D
Turn your wine back into water.
Em C
When you play this song, Al Qaeda wins,
G D
And Jesus was American.

Chorus:
G D
The United States of Amnesia
Em C
Make us numb, make it dumb, anesthesia.
G D
Cut the cord, close the door, we don’t know ya,
Em C G
It’s the zen and the art of xenophobia.
D
The United States of Amnesia
Em C
Make us numb, make it dumb, anesthesia.
G D
Cut the cord, close the door, we don’t know ya,
Em C G
It’s the zen and the art of xenophobia.

This is my "chord-y" version of the song, so I cut the solo out. If you WANT THE FULL SONG please see my
