deadmau5 (Joel Zimmerman), nascido em 1981 em Toronto, Canadá, é um produtor de Progressive House, Minimal, Electro, House, entre outros gêneros. O nome curioso de deadmau5 vem, segundo ele mesmo, de um acidente sofrido por um roedor que tentou se aventurar pelos circuitos do seu computador. Em 2006, foi eleito 'produtor do ano' e se tornou o artista que mais vendeu no site Beatport, com mais de 30.000 cópias apenas com os singles "Not Exactly" e "Faxing Berlin".
