Nascido John Stephen Sudduth, Mikky Ekko é um cantor, compositor e produtor musical de Louisiana. Ekko teve uma infância nômade, movendo-se ao sul profundo dos Estados Unidos com seu pai pregador. Tendo resolvido brevemente em Tupelo, Mississippi e absorvido evangelho tanto quanto podia, ele se mudou para Nashville, Tennessee , e começou a tocar em bandas. assinou contrato com a RCA Records.
