A inglesa Skin era cantora do grupo Skunk Anansie que, apesar de não muito conhecido pelo mundo inteiro, teve grande repercussão na Europa, com 3 álbuns lançados e 4 milhões de cópias vendidas. Agora estreia-se na sua carreira a solo com “Fleshwounds”, um álbum muito menos pesado do que estava acostumada a fazer na sua antiga banda, mas nem por isso, menos tenso.
A temática das músicas também mudou. Ela deixou de lado os protestos políticos para falar de amor.
