Biografia:
Stanley Gayetsky (1927-1991) foi um músico do jazz conhecido como Stan Getz. Filho de pais russos-judeus e criado em Nova York, Getz tocou diversos instrumentos antes que seu pai lhe comprasse seu primeiro sax, aos 13 anos.
Em 1943 entrou para a Jack Teagarden's band. Depois de tocar com outros conjuntos (1944 Stan Kenton; 1945 Jummy Dorsey; 1945-46 Benny Goodman), ficou conhecido como solista na Woody Herman Band (1947-49). Na década de 50 tornou-se popular tocando cool jazz com Horace Silver, Johnny Smith, Oscar Peterson, entre outros.
