Biografia:
Eleito nos últimos dois anos pela revista Down Beat, baixista revelação do ano, o israelita radicado nos EUA desde 1992, Avishai Cohen chama a atenção não só por sua técnica como também pela originalidade e cosmopolitismo das suas composições.
Nesta quase uma década vivendo na casa do jazz, Avishai já tocou ao lado dos nomes mais expressivos da nova geração, tais como: Wynton Marsalis, Roy Hargrove e Danilo Perez, e é também o contrabaixista de Chick Corea.
