Quando Willie Nile lançou o seu primeiro álbum, homónimo, em 1980, a imprensa comparou-o a Bob Dylan ou Bruce Springsteen. Mais de uma quarto de século passou o compositor e cantor nova-iorquino confirmou, superando, tudo o que dele se disse, assumindo-se como um dos mais dotados compositores e letristas que Nova Iorque viu nascer nos últimos anos, um expoente incontornável da corrente folk rock que tem criado muita da melhor música norete-americana.
