INTRO: A D F# A D F#

A
See the man with the military mind
F#m
Tryin' to make us all afraid all the time
D E F#m
Tryin' to make us all stay inside and lock our doors and windows
A
See the man's got too much to count
F#m
Tryin' to recollect the Sermon on the Mount
D E F#m
Blessed are the poor when they're all swinging from the gallows

PRE-CHORUS:
D A
But I ain't afraid no more, I ain't afraid no more
D E
I ain't afraid no more, no I ain't afraid

CHORUS:
A D F#m
'Cause however long the night, the dawn will break again
A D F#m
We'll be around when you have lost your oldest friends
A D Bm F#m
There's nothin' you can say or do to us to drown out this amen
A D F#m
'Cause however long the night, the dawn will break again

A
See the poet with nothin' left to say
F#m
Starin' down at blank pages all day
D E F#m
Let the alcohol take you away and sleep the way fools do
A
See the beast with the gasoline hand
F#m
Breathin' fire, drawin' lines in the sand
D E F#m
Pray we find ourselves a better plan and die the way we used to

PRE-CHORUS:
D A
But I ain't afraid no more, I ain't afraid no more
D E
I ain't afraid no more, no I ain't afraid

CHORUS:
A D F#m
However long the night, the dawn will break again
A D F#m
We'll be around when they have found your next of kin
A D Bm F#m
There's nothin' you can say or do to us to drown out this amen
A D F#m
'Cause however long the night, the dawn will break again

BRIDGE:
D
See the woman with the roses in her hair
A
Bringin' lovin' when it's too much to bear
D
Tell me I can make a difference this time
E
All I gotta do is make it all rhyme

SOLO: A D F#m A D Bm F#m

CHORUS:
A D F#m
However long the night, the dawn will break again
A D F#m
We'll be around when they have found your next of kin
A D Bm F#m
There's nothin' you can say or do to us to drown out this amen
A D F#m
'Cause however long the night, the dawn will break again

A D F#m
Will break again
