Biografia:
Daryl Hall (nascido Daryl Franklin Hohl, em 11/10/1949) e John Oates (nascido em 07 de abril de 1949) conheceram-se ainda na faculdade, quando Hall estudava musica e Oates, Jornalismo ainda na Filadélfia, em meados de 1968. Logo em seguida, Hall saiu desta universidade e participou de diversas empreitadas musicais (como por exemplo, Temptones e Gulliver, calcada dentro de um Country - Folk), seguiu como musico de estúdio, fazendo backing vocal para bandas soul da época, a exemplo dos Stylistics e outros mais.
