Daryl Hall fundo el dúo musical más exitoso de la historia. Daryl Hall y John Oates, Hall y Oates, se anotaron un éxito tras otro durante los 70 y 80 con esas pegajosas baladas pop con aires soul. Fueron, por mucho, los reyes de un soul blanco bastante meloso. La base de su estilo era la combinación del falsete de Hall y barítono de Oates.
Daryl Franklin Hohl nació el 11 de octubre de 1949 en Pottstown, Pensylvania y John Oates el 7 de abril de 1949 en Nueva York.
