Soft Cell es un dúo británico exponentes del synth-pop (a veces también llamado techno-pop) de la década de los ochenta.
Formado por, Marc Almond (Peter Marc Sinclair Almond), nacido el 9 de julio de 1959 en Southport Inglaterra en la voz.
Dave Ball, nacido el 3 de Mayo de 1959, en los sintetizadores.
El dúo se formó en la ciudad de Leeds, Inglaterra, en octubre de 1979 por Marc y Dave, estudiantes de arte, produciendo música para representaciones teatrales.
