Biografía:
La génesis de la banda llegó con la reunión de Wheeler y el guitarrista David Gavurin en la Universidad de Bristol. Wheeler ha desempeñado conciertos con la banda de Jim Jiminee. El dúo reclutó poco después al bajista Paul Brindley y al baterista Patrick Hannan.
The Sundays recibierón un gran apoyo mediático por la prensa británica después de sus primeros conciertos en Londres en 1988, aprovechando las comparaciones con Cocteau Twins y The Smiths.
