Galt McDermot é um desses heróis, autor de músicas infames em alguns circulos, conotadas com o easy-listening ou o Blaxploitation. O que para os "académicos" é um defeito para outros é uma qualidade, essa falta de rigor que permitiu a fusão entre estilos.
