Biografía:
Friendly Fires se conocieron en St. Albans, Hertfordshire, Inglaterra y con tan solo 14 años formaron un grupo de "post-hardcore" , First Day Back, con el que continuaron hasta que entraron en la universidad. Su nombre proviene de la canción que abre el álbum de Section 25, Always Now.
Al mismo tiempo el cantante Ed Macfarlane lanzó un par de temas bajo su propio nombre a través de los sellos de electrónica Skam y Precinct Recordings y atrás
