[VERSE 1]
G Em7 C Am
How come the sun didn’t make it today?
G Em7 F D7
Is it tired of what it’s been shining down on?
G Em Am Am7
Could it be God didn’t wake it today?
D
You couldn’t blame him
D7 G Em Am D
Sometimes it feels like the sun just comes up out of habit
G Em Am D
And goes down as quick as it can
G Em Am D Em
These days you just have to grab it as it goes by

[VERSE 2]
G Em7 C Am
How come the stars didn’t come out tonight?
G Em7 F D7

G Em Am Am7
Could it be God had a few doubts tonight?
D
You couldn’t blame him
D7 G Em Am D
Sometimes it seems like the stars are just going through motions
G Em Am D
They don’t see the point of it all
G Em Am D Em
They shine, shine, but you get the notion, they wonder why

Do you suppose that he knows? That he knows, but he won’t tell us

G Em7 C Am
How come the moon just won’t rise up and shine?
G Em7 F D7

D
You couldn’t blame him
D7 G Em Am D

G Em Am D
It gives less than all of its light
G Em Am D Em
It shines, shines, but just when it’s greatest, it starts to die

[INTERLUDE]
