E F#m
And everybody knows who's to blame

It slapped her face like the back of your hand
A
And she went back home to her momma

[Bridge]
D E A
She had every reason in the world to get back home
D E A
She had things to learn and she could not learn 'em alone
E F#m
And everybody knows what went wrong

[Verse]
E
Love isn't livin' from door to door
E
She was smarter than me and she had to be sure
E
That's exactly what mothers are for
A
So she went back home to her momma

[Bridge]
D E A
She was just a little too young to play in the game
D E A
She was just a little too good to handle her pain
E F#m
And everybody knows who's to blame

[Verse]
E
She called me daddy when she got sad
E
She called my bluff when I treated her bad
E
Then at the end she just called a cab
A
And she went back home to her momma
