Biografía:
Giant Sand es una banda de rock americana con base en Tucson, Arizona, aunque Los Angeles, California, fuera también su hogar durante muchos años.
Howe Gelb es el alma de Giant Sand, el único miembro presente en todos sus trabajos. Miembros destacados del grupo fueron John Convertino y Joey Burns que formaron Calexico.
Proyectos paralelos son The Band of Blacky Ranchette, OP8 (una colaboración con Lisa Germano)y últimamente el nuevo proyecto de Howe Gelb se llama Arizona Amp And Alternator (AAAA)
