Rab Noakes - Open All Night

CAPO: 2nd Fret

[INTRO:] C G C G C G C G C G

[VERSE 1:]
C G
On Redman Street I met a hungry man
C G
Scratching a living, doing the best he can
C G
He said, "I stumble, but I never fall
C G
I'm an honest man, I stay clear of the law
C G
And yes, it's true, I kicked around a bit

See, a moving target, it's harder to hit"

[CHORUS:]
C D
"Oh, I don't mind townships, some are alright
Em D C
But I love cities that are open all night
D
I like to see the neon burning bright
Em D C G
When the sign says, 'Food and Drink' and 'Open All Night, Open All Night
C G C G
Open All Night'"

[VERSE 2:]
C G
I'm stuck in England in the middle of the rain
C G
Nothing to do in the middle of the day
C G
This hotel TV is giving me pain
C G
I'd take a walk, but it's bound to rain
C G
I'm sitting here waiting for my phone to ring

Wondering just what the night might bring

[CHORUS:]
C D
Well, she'll be standing underneath the exit light
Em D C
And I'll say, "Show me a place that's open all night"
D
She'll say, "You sang pretty good and your band's alright
Em D C G
And just for you, honey, I'll stay open all night, open all night
C G C G C G
Open all night, open all night

[VERSE 3:]
C G
I'm running out of money, I've run out of lines
C G
I'm relying on some of my emotional jives
C G
There'll be some times I've got to be alone
C
That's when you'll find me in my twilight zone
G C G
But I'm wired, I'm fired, filled up to the top

Maybe it's true, I just don't know when to stop

[CHORUS:]
C D
I'll be out on the street, looking for a light
Em D C
Any place will do, so long's it's open all night
D
I'm not looking for trouble, I don't wanna start a fight
Em D C
I just can't get enough of places that's open all night
D
Here's the key to my mainspring, baby, wind me up tight
Em D C
And point me in the direction of some place that's open all night
D
Keep on doing what you're doing 'cause you're doing it right
Em D C G
Don't stop now, stay open all night, open all night
C G C G C G
Open all night, open all night

[OUTRO:] (## repeat to end ##)
