* Smokey Mountain Memories, 'bout my home in Tennessee
Bb C
* Yesterday keeps calling me, calling me ho-oo-oo?oo-ome

Mountains rising in my soul, higher than the dreams I've known
Bb C F
Misty eyes, they cling to me, like Smokey Mountain Mem-o- -ries

Dm
An old gray man with a dog a- -sleep at his feet
Gm Dm
Plays a worn out fiddle, full of mel-o-dies
F Dm
He smiles with his eyes, but the lines on his face
Gm C F
Told me as much as the tunes he played

[Verse]
F Dm
Smokey Mountain Mem-o-ries, pretty girl's in Tennessee
Bb C
I was such a fool to leave, leave her all alo-oo-oo-oo-one
F Dm
Think about her in my dreams, wonder if she thinks of me
Bb C F
I always hold her close to me, in my Smokey Mountain Mem-o- -ries

[Instrumental]

[Verse]
Dm
So mister, play your fiddle please, play some mountain mem-o-ries
Bb C
I've been down a lonely road, so far from ho-oo-oo?oo-ome

Bb C F
Now there's nothing left for me but my Smokey Mountain Mem-o- -ries
Repeat first verse
