Hollywood Nights

by Bob Seger And The Silver Bullet Band
Bob Seger And The Silver Bullet Band

Biography:

Robert Clark "Bob" Seger (born May 6, 1945) is an American rock musician and singer-songwriter.

After years of local Detroit-area success, recording and performing in the mid-1960s, Seger achieved superstar status by the mid-1970s and continuing through the 1980s with the Silver Bullet Band. A roots rocker with a classic raspy, shouting voice, Seger was first inspired by James Brown and Elvis Presley.[1] He wrote and recorded songs that dealt with blue-collar themes.

[Verse 1]
E
She stood there bright as the sun
A
On that California coast
D E
He was a Midwestern boy on his own
E
She looked at him with those soft eyes
A
So innocent and blue
D E
He knew right then he was too far from home

E A D E
He was too far from home

E A
She took his hand and she led him along that golden beach
D E
They watched the waves tumble over the sand
E
They drove for miles and miles
A
Up those twisting turning roads
D E
Higher and higher and higher they climbed

[Chorus]

E
And those Hollywood nights
A
In those Hollywood hills
D
She was looking so right
E
In her diamonds and frills
E
Oh those big city nights
A
In those high rolling hills
D
Above all the lights
E
She had all of her skills

[Interlude]
E A D E E A

[Verse 2]
E A
He'd headed west cause he felt that a change would do him good
D E
See some old friends, good for the soul
E
She had been born with a face
A
That would let her get her way
D E
He saw that face and he lost all control

E A D E
He had lost all control

E A
Night after night, Day after day It went on and on
D E
Then came that morning he woke up alone
E A
He spent all night staring down at the lights on LA
D E
Wondering if he could ever go home

[Chorus]

E
And those Hollywood nights
A
In those Hollywood hills
D
She was looking so right
E
It was giving him chills
E
In those big city nights
A
In those high rolling hills
D
Above all the lights
E
With a passion that kills

E
And those Hollywood nights
A
In those Hollywood hills
D
She was looking so right
E
In her diamonds and frills
E
Oh those big city nights
A
In those high rolling hills
D
Above all the lights
E
She had all of her skills

[Outro]
E A D E
E A D E
E A D E
