[Verse 1]
Am Dm C Am
Far over the misty mountain cold
G Am
To dungeons deep and caverns old
Em G
We must away ere break of day
Bm C G Am
To seek the pale enchanted gold.

[Verse 2]
Am Dm C Am
The dwarves of yore made mi--ghty spells,
G Am
While Hammers fell like ringing bells
Em G
In places deep, where dark things sleep,
Bm C G Am
In hallow halls beneath the fells.

[Verse 3]
Am Dm C Am
For ancient king and el-vish lord
G Am
There many a gleaming golden hoard
Em G
They shaped the wrought, and light they caught
Bm C G Am
To hide in gems on hilt of sword

[Verse 4]
Am Dm C Am
On silver necklaces th-ey strung
G Am
The flowering stars, on crowns they hung
Em G
The dragon-fire, in twisted wire
Bm C G Am
They meshed the light of moon and sun.

[Verse 5]
Am Dm C Am
Far over the misty mountains cold
G Am
To dungeons deep and caverns old
Em G
We must away, ere break of day,
Bm C G Am
To claim our long-Forgotten gold.

[Verse 6]
Am Dm C Am
Goblets they carved there for themselves
G Am
And harps of gold; where no man delves
Em G
There lay a long, and many a song
Bm C G Am
Was sung unheard by men or elves.

[Verse 7]
Am Dm C Am
They pines were roaring on the height,
G Am
The winds were moaning in the night.
Em G
The fire was red, in flaming spread;
Bm C G Am
The trees like torches blazed with light.

[Verse 8]
Am Dm C Am
The bells were ringing in the dale
G Am
And men looked up with faces pale;
Em G
The dragon's ire more fierce then fire
Bm C G Am
Laid low there towers and houses frail.

[Verse 9]
Am Dm C Am
The mountains smoked beneath the moon;
G Am
The dwarves, the heard the tramp of doom.
Em G
They fled there hall to dying fall
Bm C G Am
Beneath his feet, beneath the moon.

[Verse 10]
Am Dm C Am
Far over the misty mountains grim
G Am
To dungeons deep and caverns dim
Em G
We must away, Ere break of day,
Bm C G Am
To win our harps and gold from him!
