[Intro]
Am Em Am G Em Am

[Verse 1]
Am Em Am
Far over the misty mountains cold
G Em Am
to dungeons deep and caverns old
Am Em
We must away ere break of day
C Em Am
to seek the pale enchanted gold.

[Verse 2]
Am Em Am
The dwarves of yore made mighty spells
G Em Am
while hammers fell like ringing bells.
Am Em
In places deep where dark things sleep
C Em Am
in hollow halls beneath the fells.

[Verse 3]
Am Em Am
For ancient king and elvish lord
G Em Am
there're many a gleaming golden hoard.
Am Em
They shaped and wrought and light they caught
C Em Am
to hide in gems on hilt of sword.

[Verse 4]
Am Em Am
On silver necklaces they strung
G Em Am
the flowering stars on crowns they hung.
Am Em
The dragon fire in twisted wire
C Em Am
they meshed the light of moon and sun.

[Verse 5]
Am Em Am
Far over the misty mountains cold
G Em Am
to dungeons deep and caverns old
Am Em
We must away ere break of day
C Em Am
to claim our long forgotten gold.

[Verse 6]
Am Em Am
Goblets they carved there for themselves
G Em Am
and harps of gold where no man delves.
Am Em
There lay they long and many a song
C Em Am
was sung unheard by men or elves.

[Verse 7]
Am Em Am
The pines were roaring on the height
G Em
the winds were moaning in the night.
C Em
The fire was red it flaming spread
C Em Am
the trees like torches blazed with light.

[Verse 8]
Am Em Am
The bells were ringing in the dale
G Em Am
and men looked up with faces pale.
Am Em
The dragon's ire more fierce than fire
C Em Am
laid low their towers and houses frail.

[Verse 9]
Am Em Am
The mountain smoked beneath the moon
G Em Am
the dwarves they heard the tramp of doom.
Am Em
They fled their hall to dying fall
C Em Am
beneath his feet beneath the moon.

[Verse 10]
Am Em Am
Far over the misty mountains grim
G Em Am
to dungeons deep and caverns dim.
Am Em
We must away ere break of day
C Em Am
to win our harps and gold from him.

[Outro]
Am Em Am
Far over the misty mountains cold
G Em Am
to dungeons deep and caverns old...
