Biography:

Glen Hansard (born 21 April 1970) is an Irish songwriter, actor, vocalist and guitarist for the Irish group The Frames, and one half of folk rock duo The Swell Season. He is known for his acting, having appeared in the BAFTA-winning film The Commitments, as well as starring in the film Once, which earned him a number of major awards, including the Academy Award for Best Original Song for "Falling Slowly", with co-writer and co-star Markéta Irglová.

D/A-A part is played by barring strings 1-4 on the second fret with index finger to
form A and adding 2 other fingers to get D/A. The intro is played with thumb and index
finger. In general thumb plays the 4th and 5th strings and index finder plays the 2nd and sometimes the
3rd strings. The similar pattern goes through the verse. In chorus it is strumming.
