Verse 1:

C Bb F
There's a lot of cheap talk about the road I take
Eb Bb F
There's a lot of bold horses gettin' stuck at the gate
C Bb F
There's a lot of mean boys with some time to kill
Eb Bb G
There's a lot of good women gettin' stuck with the bill

Chorus:
F C G
So won't you let this foolish feeling make you stay
F C G
There comes a time when all your leavin' doesn't pay
F C
This boy is where your heart should be
Eb Bb
Cause you might find it cheap
F C
But you're never gonna find it for free

Same as verse 1:

There's a long legged lady livin' up on the hill
She got eyes like a cheetah, like a two dollar bill
I take her on down, take her out for a whirl
Then I let her fly free cos I know that she will

Chorus:

So won't you let this foolish feeling make you stay
There comes a time when all your leavin' doesn't pay
This boy is where your heart should be
Cos you might find it cheap
But you're never gonna find it for free

Bridge:
F C Bb G
You can paint your way but you're gonna have some hell to pay
F C Bb G F
Cos when the dogs come barking at your back you better watch what you say
C G Bb F
Cos a day without a night is like a child without no fight
Ab Eb G
And all the diamonds shinin bright won't help you see
Eb Bb
That you might find it cheap
F C
But you're never gonna find it for free

Same as verses:

There's a lot of cheap talk about the road I take
There's a lot of bold horses gettin' stuck at the gate
I'd give you my heart but I know it's too late
And I ain't got the time to sit around here and wait

Chorus:

For you to let this foolish feeling make you stay
There comes a time when all your leavin' doesn't pay
This boy is where your heart should be
Cos you might find it cheap
But you're never gonna find it for free
