Beans on Toast

Biography:

Beans On Toast (aka Jay MacCallister) is a British folk singer from Essex, UK, who rose to out of the UK folk scene in 2005. He is well known for his self-deprecating and honest songwriting, which openly deals with the topics of politics, drugs and love. He has six studios albums and has traditionally released a new record each year on his birthday, 1 December.

Jay claims the songs he writes 'have the same chords' and 'sound like Billy Bragg'. His close friend Frank Turner mentions Jay in many of his songs: I Knew Prufock Before He Got Famous

Em(maj7) - (02120x) I'm not 100% sure if this is the right name for it, but this
is the chord he plays for it. This is my first proper tab, so feel free to

Capo 2 (Standard tuning)

E

Are you a democrat or republican? Would you put your faith in a politician?

A

Were you born and raised by Uncle Sam? Did you swear allegiance to the flag?

E

Who do you think blew up the towers? Cos I gotta tell ya, I heard some stories,

A

What started off as a conspiracy, now it makes a lot of sense to me

E (alternate picking and strumming between the D and A strings)

And maybe it was an inside job, done by the people sitting at the top,

A (alternate picking and strumming between the G and D strings)

So that they could get more control, of the everyday man on American soil.

E

And I know these are wild accusations, but there's so much greed, so much corruption.

A E E-Em-E

There's so much money to be made in terror, it's all about the American dollar.

A E Em(maj7) E

And I'm an English man, so what would I know? We got the same bullshit going on at home.

A E Em(maj7) E

The whole world's now run by the greedy, evil cunts who make the money.

A E ` Em(maj7) E E-Em-E

They got more money then they're ever gonna need and still they wanna start World War Three.

E

So after they blew up the towers, start a lot of different wars in a lot of different countries,

A

And blame it on Bush like a useless pawn, put a brand new smile on the White House lawn,
E

From blue to red, from white to black, the same people controlling it,

A

Collapsing the economy, creating modern slavery,

E

So a war that started in the middle east, is kicking off on Venice Beach,

A

With tanks in the streets and planes in the sky, checkpoints where they'll check your eyes,

E E-Em-E

They'll tell you it's for your safety, but all they really want is your money.
