We Are The Few

by Streetlight Manifesto
Streetlight Manifesto

Biography:

Streetlight Manifesto is a third wave ska punk band from New Brunswick, New Jersey, under the creative leadership of singer/guitarist Tomas Kalnoky. Since forming in 2002, the band has released four full-length albums.

Several of Streetlight's members were already well known among the New Jersey ska community for their roles in past ska bands from that area, most notably Catch 22's Tomas Kalnoky, James Egan, Mike Soprano, and Josh Ansley, as well as One Cool Guy's Stuart Karmatz, Pete Sibilia, Dan Ross, and Chris Paszik.

F G
Dear
C G Am F
Mr Gepetto I hope this finds you well
G C G
I wrote this letter
E5 F
cause we miss you here in hell

C G
And now I know it's hard when you don't know what to think
Am F G
And every single smile is a thorn when you're waking up
C G Am
You might try but you won't get by until you're crucified for all the
F G
things you try to do

C G
Well I don't care if you sink or swim
Am Em
And I don't care how you hold it in
F C F G
As long as you don't bother me with all the things I don't bother you with

C G
And 9 times out of 1 you might be right
Am Em
But what about that time you know you're wrong
F C
Keep singing that same song
F G
And everybody smiles but they'll never get along

XX XX X X X X X
I'm trying and I'm trying and I'm trying to let go
But everybody's going down tonight

[Chorus]
C5 G5
We are the few that won't say nothing right
A5 F5 G5
We are the footsteps fading into the night
C5 G5 A5 F5
G5
Nobody cares and nobody stares with such conviction and I say
C5 G5
I never wanted this no one ever wanted this
A5 F5 G5
But they gave it to me so I might as well be proud of it
C5 G5
And I don't know where we went wrong
A5 F5 G5
All i know now is i got to do something right

C G Am F G
C G Am

F G
So come clean
C G Am
No one should have have to live with the things you've seen
F G
But you're living anyway
C G
Well I stop the car and put her in park
Am Em
And I step outside god I hate this part
F C F
When I see what I saw what I thought was a lie it was more
G
Than a chore I'm just doing what I need to get

C G
I don't care if you leave or stay
Am
But we might as well split
Em F
Because it's not the same as it was
C
When we said our last goodbye
F G
And if you want the truth I was hoping one of us would
C G Am
Pass away because it'd be much easier then
Em F
We could all get together and think about when
C F
We were young we were dumb we were numb but in love
G
And I'm done so I'm sending out this letter today

XX XX XX X X X
I'm trying and I'm trying and I'm trying to let go
But everybody's going down tonight

[Chorus]

C G Am F G x2

C G Am F G
This has been the best night of my life X
C G
I could've lost my life
Am F
And I would've lost my mind
G C G
But now I'm fine and I find
Am F G
That this has been the best night of my
C G _
This has been the best night of my-
Am F G -- X
I still can't believe they had the heart to apologize
C G
I could've lost my life
Am F
And I would've lost my mind
G C G
But now I'm fine and I find
Am F G
That this has been the best night of my

[Bridge]
C G Am F G
And as the day fades no one investigates
C G Am F G
Nobody answers when she calls his name
C G Am F G
Another victim somewhere in a shallow grave
C G Am F[one strum]
I want to hold her and tell her it's not your fault

C5 G5 A5 F5 G5
Na na na

[Bridge]

Na na na
It's not your fault

[chorus x2]
