Whiskey And Math

by Waxahatchee
Waxahatchee

Biography:

Waxahatchee is a solo project of American singer and guitarist Katie Crutchfield (born in 1989) of P.S. Eliot and Bad Banana.

Waxahatchee, named after Waxahatchee Creek in Alabama where Crutchfield grew up, began in 2010 during the breakup of P.S. Eliot. Crutchfield released her first music as Waxahatchee as a split cassette with Chris Clavin on Plan-It-X Records. Her bedroom-recorded debut album, American Weekend, was released on Don Giovanni Records in 2012.

intro
D A D A G

D A G
I'm not singing our song.
D
I've been waiting here for way too long,
A
Working out long equations,
G A
Drinking from paper bags.
D A
And I've spent 14 summers
G D
Fucking around with this idea
A
And I'll strain every connection
G A
To show you what I'm made of and
G Em7
You said again.
G Em7
"you get what you put in".
G Em7
My phone won't ring.
G Em7
I've put in nothing.

D A G D A G

D A
I'm not blaming myself.
G
You're down to dusty bones
D A
And I read about women in black
G A
Floating up to the grey sky.
D A
And if I was wherever you are,
G
I'd tell you pretty things like
D A
"we can stay as long as you want,
G A
tangled in sunny daylight" and
G Em7
You said again.
G Em7
"you get what you put in".
G Em7
My phone won't ring.
G Em7
I've put in nothing.
D A G
And Those ladies in black,
D A G A
I saw them ascending, half-smiling.
D A G
And we live these scripted fates
D G ADAG
But in these moments we drop it and run away.
D A G A
Run away

D A G D A G A end on slow D
