Waxahatchee

Biography:

Waxahatchee is a solo project of American singer and guitarist Katie Crutchfield (born in 1989) of P.S. Eliot and Bad Banana.

Waxahatchee, named after Waxahatchee Creek in Alabama where Crutchfield grew up, began in 2010 during the breakup of P.S. Eliot. Crutchfield released her first music as Waxahatchee as a split cassette with Chris Clavin on Plan-It-X Records. Her bedroom-recorded debut album, American Weekend, was released on Don Giovanni Records in 2012.

Intro :
C G F Am

C G F Am
Crave, desolate, you dive in, we follow along.
C G F Am
I contrive you with whiskey and Sam Cooke songs
C G F Am
And we lay on our backs, soaking wet below a static tv set.
C G F Am
Conversation flows, counting shooting stars and catfish,
G
But I'll never make a wish.

C G F Am x2

C G F Am
Barefoot, parking lot, getting high'n Portland, Or'gon
C G F Am
We echo seventheen; we glue it back and poke fun
C G F Am
And it gets real quiet, I don't care, darting with moonshine, truth or dare
C G F Am
I say just what I'm thinking and second guess instantly
G
And you laugh at me.

C F G F
We stick to our slow motion memory.
C F G F
It's 1 in the morning and 90 degrees
Am G C F
and though now it is hovering darkly over me,
Am G C F
it'll look just like heaven when I get up and leave.
Am G
You're a ghost and I can't breathe.

C G F Am x2 end on C slow strum down
