Traffic

Feelin Alright

by Traffic
Traffic

Biography:

The English rock band Traffic started out with Steve Winwood, Dave Mason, Jim Capaldi, and Chris Wood after Winwood left The Spencer Davis Group. From their beginning, in 1967, they were quite popular in their native England, though success elsewhere was slower in coming. Their first three albums combined psychedelic rock and soul with elements of British folk music, giving them a unique, groundbreaking sound. Their most popular single was Dear Mr. Fantasy, from the album of the same name.

Verse 1:
E A
Well I think I’ve got to have a change of scene
E A
‘Cause every night I have these strangest dreams
E A
Imprisoned by the way things used to be
E A
Left alone here by my self or so it seems
E A
I’ve got to get on out of here before I start to scream
E A
‘Cause somebody locked the door and threw away the key

Chorus:

E A E A
(Are you) Feelin’ Alright I’m not feeling too good myself
E A E A
(Are you) Feelin’ Alright I’m not feeling too good myself

Verse 2:
E A
Well baby you sure took me on one big ride
E A
And even now I stop and wonder why
E A
‘Cause when I stop to think about you I start to cry
E A
But I mustn’t get upset oh no I must keep dry
E A
I’ve got to stop believing in all your lies
E A
‘Cause I’ve got just too much to do before I die

Chorus:

E A E A
(Are you) Feelin’ Alright I’m not feeling too good myself
E A E A
(Are you) Feelin’ Alright I’m not feeling too good myself

Verse 3:
E A
Don’t you get too lost on all I say
E A
‘Cause at the time I really felt that way
E A
But that was then and now it’s today
E A
I can’t get off yet and so I’m here to stay
E A
‘Til someone comes along and takes my place
E A
With a different name and a different face
