Trader Horne

Morning Way

by Trader Horne
Trader Horne

Biography:

Trader Horne was a British folk duo formed in 1969 by the former Fairport Convention singer Judy Dyble and Jackie McAuley, who had been organist and guitarist with Them. The duo released one single, "Sheena", with a Judy Dyble song on the flipside, "Morning Way", which became the title track of their only album. Another single, "Here Comes The Rain" backed with "Goodbye Mercy Kelly" followed this album.

Shortly before a performance in May 1970, Dyble decided to leave the band.

(Autoharp Intro)...

Cm Bb

Cm Bb (keep repeating Cm and Bb)
Dreaming strands of nightmare
Are sticking to my feet
It's time to wake up and throw away
The last remaining sheep
Sunlight sliding down my back
And dripping on the grey
It's time to watching the dawning light
Reveal the morning way
Dreams are fading now it's nearly noon and then
It's afternoon the leaves are creeping green
C
Inside the day

(keep repeating this section/building momentum towards end)

C
To where are the friends who
Bb
Used to lend me love are all
F
Above my head and looking down
C
At me to smile at how it ought to be

C
And where are the friends who used to
Bb F
lend me love are all above my head and looking
C
down at me to smile at how it ought to be

C
to where are the friends who
Bb
used to lend me love are all above
F
my head and looking down at me
C
to smile at how it ought to be
