The Wave Pictures - Bye Bye Bubble Belly

Intro

C F G C

C F
Oh I was thinking I couldn't do better
G C
Than this girl who stuck gum straight on the leather
F
Of this disgusting & expensive sofa
G C
Didn't even try to hide it

It wasn't like this at the wedding
Light years before heavy drinking
She tried to teach me how to sit cross-legged
Underneath the table

F G C
But I could be pleasingly shiny
Em Dm
Not teasing her with shyness
F G C F G C
Not sat with the skeletons at the bar
F G C
& I could draw a perfect line
Em Dm
Half this town call me Caroline
F G C F G C
Say baby what is yours is mine

Was even thinking that I couldn't do better
Than the woman at Whitechapel Welfare Center
Who signs me on every other week
& thank god she never speaks to me

It wasn't like this at the wedding
Light years before heavy drinking
She tried to teach me how to sit cross-legged
Underneath the table

But I could be pleasingly shiny
Not teasing her with shyness
Not sad with the skeletons at the bar

& I could draw a perfect line
Half this town call me Caroline
Say baby what is yours is mine

C F
So I said bye bye bubble belly
G C
Bubble belly bye bye
C F
Bye bye bubble belly
G C
Bubble belly bye bye

Bye bye bye bye bye bye bye
Bye bye bubble belly
Bubble belly bye bye
