[Intro]
Em D C C X4

[Verse 1]
Em D C
The waves are pounding on the shore today
Em D C
The sun is shining on the sand
Em D C
And we’ve been swimming in the water
Em D C
We’ve been living off the land
Em D C
Yea, we’ve been breathing underwater
Em D C
With all those animals that can
Em D C
Hey, we are living underwater
Em D C
Yea, we are living off the land

[Chorus]
G D C
Hey, it’s Christmas down under
Em D C
Hey, it’s Christmas down under
G D C
Hey, it’s Christmas down under
G D C
Hey, it’s Christmas down under

[Instrumental]
Em D C C X4

[Verse 2]
Em D C
Some say that Jesus had a daughter
Em D C
But I don’t guess he ever met her
Em D C
And she had never met her father
Em D C
No, I guess this world couldn’t let her
Em D C
No, this world needed a martyr
Em D C
And, hey, it’s hard to understand
Em D C
But if you need to make a martyr
Em D C
You got to take away the man

[Chorus]
G D C
Hey, it’s Christmas down under
Em D C
Hey, it’s Christmas down under
G D C
Hey, it’s Christmas down under
G D C
Hey, it’s Christmas down under

[Instrumental]
Em D C C X8

[Verse 3]
Em D C
One day my dove will be a dragon
Em D C
It’s so hard to understand
Em D C
All dragon wings and dragon fire
Em D C
Then dragon bones beneath the land
Em D C
So tonight, when the clouds break
Em D C
With all the lightning and the thunder
Em D C
Hey, come find me ’neath the lights of the tiki bars, honey
Em D C
Hey, it’s Christmas down under

[Chorus]
G D C
Hey, it’s Christmas down under
Em D C
Hey, it’s Christmas down under
G D C
Hey, it’s Christmas down under
G D C
Hey, it’s Christmas down under

to fade
