[Verse 1]
(E) (D) A
I was sitting at a bar in New England
(E) (D) E
I was thinking about another beer
(E) (D) A
They had a lady playing on the piano
(E) (D) E
Yeah, I was liking how it got to my ears
(E) (D) A
Said, "Hey, I like it how you play that piano"
(E) (D) E
She just said, "Honey, what are you doing here?"
(E) (D) A
I said, "Well, I'm sitting in a bar in New England
(E) (D) E
I was thinking about another beer"

[Verse 2]
(E) (D) A
Hey, well, the very first time we laid eyes on you
(E) (D) E
Your mama burst into tears
(E) (D) A
We were shaking in the medical basement
(E) (D) E
And I guess everything was all in arrears
(E) (D) A
I was staring like a fool at the camera
(E) (D) E
Just saying, "Honey, what are you doing here?"
(E) (D) A
Hey, well, the very first time I laid eyes on you
(E) (D) E
Your mama burst into tears
