Mike Doughty

Biography:

Mike Doughty (born June 10, 1970, in Fort Knox, Kentucky) is an American indie and alternative rock singer-songwriter and author. The former frontman of Soul Coughing from 1992, Doughty began writing solo songs in 1995, but nothing materialized until Soul Coughing broke up in 2000. At this point Doughty began touring solo with his acoustic guitar (after becoming clean and sober). His album Skittish (recorded 1996; released 2000) was finally released, along with the EP Rockity Roll.

[Verse 1]
C G
Oh my days, they were so easy
F C
Till I kissed you in that door
G
Now my arms, they feel so empty
F C
Like they never did, before

[Chorus]
Am C
And I can't believe I found you in that town
Am
No I can't believe its true
C G
I can't believe just how I'm missing you
Am C
You do not call, you never make a sound
Am C
No at least not like you made when I was close to you
G F
So sweet and so profound
C
And I can't believe I found you in that town

[Verse 2]
C G
I don't want, to feel this insane
F C
And I don't want, to call you
G
But my hands can't stop remembering
F C
The way your hips move

[Chorus]
Am C
And I can't believe I found you in that town
Am
I can't cease to see your face
C G
And I still feel all the traces of this
Am C
Feeling I don't want to come around
Am
Let it leave me like a long breath,
C G F
Let it dissipate or fade in the background
C
And I can't believe I found you in that town

[Bridge]
Bb
No I can't believe I found you in that town
Am
No I can't believe I found you in that town
D5
No I can't believe I found you in that
F
Can't believe I found you in that
C
In that town

[Chorus]
Am C
And I can't believe I found you in that town
Am

C G
I can't believe just how I'm missing you
Am C
You do not call, you never make a sound
Am C
No at least not like you made when I was close to you
G F
So sweet and so profound
C
And I can't believe I found you in that town

[Chorus]
Am C
And I can't believe I found you in that town
Am
I can't cease to see your face
C G
And I still feel all the traces of this
Am C
Feeling I don't want to come around
Am
Let it leave me like a long breath,
C G F
Let it dissipate or fade in the background
