Intro: Bm7 G D A 2x

Verse 1:
D Am7
Morning’s hard, coffee’s cold
G6 D
Pretending that the day mean more than getting old
D Am7
Stale headlines others drenched in pride
G6 D
Marching to their drums with fear standing beside
Bm7 G6
But if I close my eyes and throw back my head
D A
I can see his face and I hear the words he said
Bm7 G6
And my memories ache and my senses burn
D A
Did he dream too late will we ever learn

Chorus:
D A
I, I want to testify
D
My love still lives and breathes
A
And my soul is screaming why
D
The thoughts won’t let me sleep
A
Don’t let hearts break
D
And don’t let children cry
A
Before it get’s too late
Bm7
I want to testify

Verse 2:
I take what’s said as my daily bread
I turn the page and I turn my head
I pick I choose on the evening news
Caused by cause they fight and one by one they loose
Must I live my days in these concrete ways
Will the fre break through this smokey haze
And I swear tonight I’m gonna find that place
It’s not the love that dies but the understanding ways

Chorus:
D A
I, I want to testify
D
My love still lives and breathes
A
And my soul is screaming why
D
The thoughts won’t let me sleep
A
Don’t let hearts break
D
And don’t let children cry
A
Before it get’s too late
Bm7
I want to testify

Bridge:
G
Rip through the wire that screens in my window
D Bm7
Throw open the shade that covers my mind
C G
I’m going to touch I’ve got to believe
A
The bell tolls for me

Chorus 2x
and end.
