VERSE:
A B A B
Are you lying there on the cold dark ground
C#m
Your skin and bones are bare you stare without a sound
A B A B
What is it in your mind that lights the fuse this time
C#m
What do you want so bad that you have never had
A B A B
Could it be dangerous to light the flame and just
C#m
Feel the warmth again make it rise again
A B A B
Remember your last time you tried to let it in
C#m
It scorched the walls, torched the halls
F#m
And then it melted your skin

CHORUS:
F#m A
Like a preacher save you from the fire
E B
I won’t let you burn
F#m A
Like a preacher gonna lift you higher
E B F#m A E
I won’t let you burn

VERSE:
A B A B
The feelings you repress the thoughts you don’t confess
C#m
They grow inside the dark make ashes of your heart
A B A B
You recklessly adore the idols keeping score
C#m
But no-one ever wins they just start the game again
A B A B
You chose the cross you bare and pick the chains you wear
C#m
Your heavens in your mind your hells a valentine
A B A B
Come closer now express this longing so divine

On your knees be blessed let it possess you one more time

Take this now for it’s my body a little death can be so godly

F#m A
Like a preacher save you from the fire
E B
I won’t let you burn
F#m A
Like a preacher gonna lift you higher

Like a preacher
