Hey guys!

The chords I've written out below are how the Local Natives play them, but you can, of course, play them
whichever way you find easiest or sounds best.

No capo
Standard tuning

Gmaj7 - [x x 5 4 3 2]

Bm - [x x 0 4 3 2]

D6/9 - [0 0 2 4 3 2]

D/F# - [0 0 4 2 3 2]

INTRO:

Gmaj7 - Bm - D6/9 - D/F#

VERSE 1:

Gmaj7
Oh some evil spirit,

Bm D6/9 D/F#
Oh some evil this way comes.

Gmaj7
They told me how they fear it,

Bm D6/9 D/F#
Now they're placing it on their tongues.

CHORUS:

Gmaj7 Bm D6/9 D/F#
Oh to see it with my own eyes.

Gmaj7 Bm D6/9 D/F#
Oh to see it with my own eyes.

VERSE 2:

Gmaj7
No food or water,

Bm D6/9 D/F#
For the better part of ten months.

Gmaj7
Quietly he sat,

Bm D6/9 D/F#
Between the folds of a tree trunk.

CHORUS:

Gmaj7 Bm D6/9 D/F#
Oh to see it with my own eyes.

Gmaj7 Bm D6/9 D/F#
Oh to see it with my own eyes.

VERSE 3:

Gmaj7
All the men of faith,

Bm D6/9 D/F#
And men of science, have their questions.

Gmaj7
Could it ever be on Earth,

Bm D6/9 D/F#
As it is in heaven?

CHORUS:

Gmaj7 Bm D6/9 D/F#
Oh to see it with my own eyes.

Gmaj7 Bm D6/9 D/F#
Oh to see it with my own eyes.
