They got the Younger brothers

Fool enough to cower and crawl

Shackled and chained behind high walls

Enough to fill twenty coffins

Guess they'll lock me away behind high walls

CHORUS:
F-C
If sixteen grains of morphine
C-G
Could just a-wipe the slate clean
F
Then you know I would take it all
F-C
But rotting in the state of Minnesota
C-G
Sweating on a chain gang road, ah
D
The hell, I cannot take that

F-C
If sixteen grains of morphine

The hell, I cannot take that

Not with my will to survive

We'll run until they stumble and fall
