Levellers

Edge Of The World

by Levellers
Levellers

Biography:

Levellers is a popular English rock band influenced by punk and traditional English music. The band is based in Brighton, England, where they were founded in 1988. There are several stories regarding how they got their name; from the Levellers, a radically democratic faction of Oliver Cromwell's New Model Army; as a reference to "The Level", a flat open space near where members of the band used to live in Brighton; or simply, according to guitarist, Simon Friend, a word they chose from a dictionary.

This song is amazing played live. Saw Levs last night, and this song blew me away. Quick check on You-tube,
clocked Mark's chords, and this is what I came up with.
Stick a cap on second fret, and away you go (lyrics googled).
Same 4 chords all the way through:

A Em
At the edge of the world nothing is said
G D
Call a witness, conversation is dead

A Em
We pray for the coming but we don't hear a word
G D
We're waiting around the edge of the world

A Em
The loneliest place I know is my own street
G D
And your very own words are the hardest to eat

A Em
From the shadows of plastic where you shout to be heard
G D
You're just sitting around at the edge of the world

A Em
The telephone is lying there on the floor
G D
Somehow the moss just creeps round the door

A Em
And everyone's crying from a painful blow
G D
That came down the cable centuries ago

A Em
Three men from the east correctly concurred
G D
And left us in shackles at the edge of the world

A Em
The edge of the world, yeah, the edge of the world
G D
They left us in pieces at the edge of the world

A Em
The edge of the world, oh, the edge of the world
G D
We're all waiting in pieces at the edge of the world (REPEAT 3X)
