E
Some boys with warm beds and cold, cold hearts
A E
Can make you feel nothing at all
B A
They'll never remember and they'll never mind
D A
If you're counting the cracks in the wall
E
They're quick and they're greedy

They never feel guilty
A E
They don't know the meaning of hurt
B A
The boots just go back on, the socks that had stayed on
D A
The next time they see you they treat you like dirt
B E
The next time they treat you like dirt

E A
Now don't come the cowboy with me Sonny Jim
E
I know lots of those and you're not one of them
B C
There's a light in your eyes tells me somebody's in
B E
And you won't come the cowboy with me

E
Don't be too rough on my cold, cold heart
A E
It's all I've got left to me now
B A
I fell out of favour with heaven somewhere
D A
And I'm here for the hell of it now.
E A
Some girls play cowboys and some boys play harder to get
E
But they're got just the same
B A
They smile and say cheese They're so eager to please
D A
But they'll never remember your name
B E
The names and the places all change

E A
But don't come the cowboy with me Sonny Jim
E
I know lots of those and you're not one of them
B C
There's a light in your eyes tells me somebody's in
B E
And you won't come the cowboy with me

A E A E - F B F B

E
Did somebody tell you I'm lonely as hell?
A E
I didn't expect you to know me so well
B A
If I learned a lesson it's how to bounce back again
D A
Sometimes I bounce off the wall
B E
And sometimes my head hits the floor

E A
So don't come the cowboy with me Sonny Jim
E
I know lots of those and you're not one of them
B C
There's a light in your eyes tells me somebody's in
B
And you won't come the cowboy
E A
Oh don't come the cowboy with me Sonny Jim
E
I know lots of those and you're not one of them
B C
There's a light in your eyes tells me somebody's in
B E
And you won't come the cowboy with me
