Biography:

Kate Rusby (born 4 December 1973 in Barnsley; currently based in Penistone, Yorkshire) is an English folksinger and one of the most popular folk singers of traditional English folk songs. Four years of hard work!

This month of May we celebrated four years on the air. We continue working on the dissemination of this wonderful instrument, thank you for participating in our story!

Sorry, I haven't the time to put the chords for the rest of this song, just follow the
pattern (I know it's incredibly annoying, but you can copy it into a text editor if you
want to spend the time doing it!)

A
Here we come a-wassailing

Among the leaves so green;

Here we come a-wand'ring

So fair to be seen.
F#m E
Here we come a-wand'ring
D E
So fair to be seen.

REFRAIN:
A
Love and joy come to you,

And to you your wassail too;
F#m E A D
And God bless you and send you a Happy New Year
A E A
And God send you a Happy New Year.

We are not daily beggars

That beg from door to door;

But we are neighbours' children,

Whom you have seen before.

But we are neighbours' children,

Whom you have seen before.

REFRAIN

We have got a little purse

Of stretching leather skin;

I need a silver sixpence

To line it well within.

I need a silver sixpence

To line it well within.

REFRAIN (Bridge - Accordion Solo)

God bless the master of this house

Likewise the mistress too,

And all the little children

That round the table grew.

And all the little children

That round the table grew.

REFRAIN

Good master and good mistress,

While you're sitting by the fire,

Pray think of us poor children

Who are wandering in the mire.

Pray think of us poor children

Who are wandering in the mire.
