Intro G D

G C G
Well since you’ve left I’ve had no place to be
D G
I’ll spend most everyday doing as I please
G G7 C A7
I’ve got pockets full of money; hear a jingle when I walk
G D
Yeah it’s the good life from now on

G C G
Now when I walk down the street everybody knows my name
D G
They all step aside and let me go my way
G G7 C A7
They all smile and snicker in subtle tones of awe
G D G
Yeah it’s the good life from now on

C G
Oh and all the fancy restaurants won’t let me wait inside
D G
They serve me out the backdoor and never ask for a dime
G G7 C A7
So you tell me what I’m missing and I’ll tell you where you’re wrong
G D G
Yeah it’s the good life from now on

Solo

C G
Well now I could go anywhere and live this way
D G
I could catch a first class trip on an outbound freight
G G7 C A7
Yeah ‘cause I’ve got nothing left here to keep me hanging on
G D G
Yeah it’s the good life from now on
C D C D G
Yeah it’s the good life for me from now on
