F G C
She comes to me in the night when loneliness
F G C
Is too much to bear and she holds me close And she helps me forget
F G C Am
You go steppin' out as she comes steppin' in
F G C
Someday I'll be forgiven for this

F G C
Cause you just ain't got the time that you used to
F G C
Well you say you love me and deep inside hell I know you do
F G C Am
So stop your crying now I'm already convinced
F G C
that someday I'll be forgiven for this

F G C
Yeah, and if I know you, you won't have nothing to say
F G C
You'll just clear the tears from your eyes Long enough to watch me walk away
F G C Am
You won't curse or scream, no nothing that obscene
F G C
you'll just tell yourself you never loved me anyway

F G C
So tonight when you leave Put the light out on the porch
F G C
Take anything that you want to keep and leave your key in the door

F G C Am
And I don't want to hear you crying no tears that show regret
F G C
Cause someday you'll be forgiven for this
F G C
Oh, yeah, someday you'll be forgiven for this.
